HISTORY
The 250th Anniversary Reenactment of The Battle of Bunker Hill aims to accurately portray the events and faithfully represent the people involved in the conflict of June 17, 1775.
Although Bunker Hill was the tallest hill on Charlestown Peninsular, Breed’s Hill was closer to the coast so the Colonialist set up their defenses there. The British landed on the beach and| fought their way up a grassy slope to attack the top of Breeds Hill.
The Charlestown Peninsular is now fully developed so organizers of Bunker Hill 250 moved the re-enactment to Gloucester’s St Park, whose beaches and grassy landscape closely resemble Breed’s and Bunker Hill in 1775.
